For men ready to pop the question to their significant other, we've got a few suggestions to figure out her ring size without her knowledge.

Method #1: Borrow a Ring

One of the easiest ways of figuring out her ring size is by simply borrowing one of her rings and having it sized. Our recommendation is for you to wait until she steps out of the room or house, borrow one of her rings from her jewelry box, and bring it to a reputable retailer—such as GMG Jewellers—to have it accurately sized.

Alternatively, some grooms have told us that instead of bringing the ring directly to a retailer, they slip it on their own finger, mark the size on their own finger, then have their finger mark sized at a retailer.

Method #2: Measure Her Finger

For the sneaky grooms who like a good story, a clever way to measure her ring finger is to wait until she has gone to sleep and gently measure her finger. The best way to go about it is to have a small piece of string near you when you both go to bed, and lightly slip it around her finger after she has fallen asleep. After you've marked the string, you can easily come to our Saskatoon showroom and have the string measured to figure out her size.

Although it may sound a bit odd, we've heard many grooms who enjoy this sly way of figuring out their partner's ring size.

Method #3: Ask a Friend

Last, the most convenient method of finding out your lovely partner's size is to ask a friend or possibly even the bride-to-be's mother. Not only does this conversation inevitably bring you closer to her pals and family, but it affords the possibility of learning more about what your lady friend likes. There is a big chance your lady's best friend might have some insights as to what kind of rings and styles she prefers.

Don't be afraid to ask all the important questions, but if you want the proposal to be a surprise just remind her friend.
