Spotlight on TACORI's Sculpted Collections

Today, we're going to be turning a spotlight on one of our favourite brands here at GMG Jewellers: TACORI. Specifically, we're going to focus on their "sculpted" collections. This category includes their Petite Crescent, Coastal Crescent, and Sculpted Crescent lines. For decades, TACORI has used crescents as the iconic feature that sets their work apart. The crescents have a graceful beauty of their own, but they're also designed to be the top crescents of "hidden hearts" that complete the inward curve of each pair of the crescents. However, despite their success in using the crescent, TACORI hardly rests on its laurels when it comes to designing new collections to explore the integration of the crescent motif into engagement rings.

Petite Crescent

As the name implies, the Petite Crescent collection is made with far smaller crescents than the standard collection's. Turning a Petite Crescent ring on its side, you can see that rather than pavilions, the design has more of a dainty, lacelike appearance. This is ideal for the woman who appreciates a demurer touch to her engagement ring—but it's also a benefit to the woman who loves side stones. By using less gold in the crescents, TACORI is able to fit bigger diamonds into the pave settings on the surface of the shank, allowing for a glitzier accentuation for the centre solitaire or halo.

Coastal Crescent

The usual TACORI crescent is distinguished by bunting made from the metal of the ring, between which light is permitted to flow. However, the Costal Crescent collection does something a little different. Rather than open pavilions between the metal, the spaces are closed with fabric-textured metal recessed from the curves. The effect, naturally, is less light coming through the underside of the rings' diamonds, but more gold or platinum to gleam in the light.

While the Petite Crescent line is ideal for the woman who loves more diamonds, Coastal Crescent rings are better for the fiancée who wants a piece with a thicker profile. This is ideal for pairing with a wedding band that's also a thicker, modern piece.

Sculpted Crescent

Sculpted Crescent collection rings also have a "closed crescents" presentation, but they're thinner pieces than the Coastal Crescent line. While Coastal and Petite Crescent rings have milgrain beading and diamonds worked into their rings' crescents, Sculpted Crescent rings are polished smooth, blending into the face of the shank seamlessly. As a more "modern" collection, Sculpted Crescent rings also feature innovative and striking settings for the side diamonds on the face. For example, bezel and quasi-channel settings can be found in this line, as well as crescents worked into the shape of the overall shank itself.
